There are two ways to follow a participant during an event.

The official Vätternrundan app

With the official Vätternrundan app, family and friends can follow your race. In the app, there are both official times and live tracking that uses the phone’s built-in GPS.

Please note: To follow someone via live tracking – or to be tracked yourself – both the participant and the followers need to use the app. The participant must carry their phone during the race and activate the app before the start. Only then will GPS live tracking be possible.

Follow your favorites during the race – here’s how to do it

1. Download the official Vätternrundan app.
2. Add the participants you want to follow.

Get ready in your own time, well in advance:
Make sure you’re able to make purchases on your phone – this will give you access to several smart features, such as:
– Push notifications when the participant passes a checkpoint
– Live map showing the participant’s exact location on the course in real time. Make sure the person you want to follow has their phone with them and activates the app about 10 minutes before their start time.

Follow along all the way!
Once the race is underway, you can send encouraging cheers in the chat and follow the participants together with others. It’s both fun and engaging!

For you who are cycling – here’s how it works

1. Download the app well in advance.
Add your start number and make sure your start time is correct.

2. Fully charge your phone.
Make sure your phone is charged before the start. Avoid using battery saver mode, as it may affect the GPS functionality.

3. Enable notifications.
This allows you to receive cheerful cheers from your followers along the route – fun and motivating!

4. Activate the app about 10 minutes before your start.
Open the app and tap Activate around 10 minutes before your start time. Only then will your followers be able to see you in the app.

5. Ride with your phone in your pocket.
Your official time starts only when you cross the start line. You don’t need to do anything else.
