The bicycle

Before you arrive to Motala for any one of Vätternrundan’s rides, please ensure that your bicycle is serviced and in good working condition. Check that the gears and brakes work correctly and efficiently and that the tyres and inner tubes are not dry or cracked. It is your own responsibility to make sure that your bicycle meets the standard that Swedish law requires (read more at transportstyrelsen.se).

Working lights front and back as well as approved reflectors must be use if you start between the hours of 19:30 and 03:00. N.b. This also applies if you expect to finish after dusk.

Only bicycles with two wheels are allowed on the course. Tandem bicycles for max. 2 persons are also allowed. Both riders must be registered for the ride and be seated in the direction of the bicycles direction of travel.
Handlebar plugs must be in place and we strongly recommend not to use so called bar-ends as they can easily fasten in other riders or their bicycles.
Our recommendation is to use drop handlebars. Disc wheels are not permitted and the maximum height for high-profile wheels is 60mm. For more information on rules and regulations vatternrundan.se/en/rules (opens in new window).
