Vätternrundan 315 km

For those who want to experience Vätternrundan from the sidelines and cheer on our joyful cyclists, we have compiled a list of spectator spots. Here, you can follow the race smoothly along with other visitors and enjoy the surroundings. Avoid the stretches where the race passes when traveling to and from the spectator spots by planning your journey. Please use our maps and follow the directions and signs on site. Note that the times below are approximate times when cyclists pass the various spectator spots, which may vary due to, for example, weather conditions.

Start and Finish, Motala
In central Motala, Östergötland’s lake city, the recreational race starts and finishes. Experience the buzz and visit partners, exhibitors, and local restaurants and shops. The start is on the hill after Stora Torget, and the finish is on the promenade next to Motala Folkets Hus and restaurant Sjöbris. The race starts between June 14 at 19:30 and June 15 at 12:30 Cyclists finish between 04:00 and midnight on June 15, when the finish line closes.

Vadstena
Here you can walk through history with its cultural historical landmarks. The cathedral where Saint Bridget is buried and Gustav Vasa’s castle with its characteristic moat, to name a few. Stroll among old buildings and colorful gardens. The first cyclists pass through the town already at 20:00 on June 14. Cyclists will continue to pass until early morning on June 15.

Ödeshög
A small community in the middle of the Östergötland plain. In addition to Ödeshög Church, which dates back to the 12th century, the surroundings offer rock carvings, runes, and a magical view over rapeseed fields and Mount Omberg. Cyclists pass through here from 20:30 on June 14 to 13:30 on June 15, with a peak between 04:00 and 07:00.

Gyllene Uttern
A famous viewpoint and also the gateway to the peppermint candy town of Gränna. In Gränna, you walk on cobblestone streets, through beautiful buildings, and an exciting local shopping scene. Many of the peppermint candy shops also show their manufacturing. From the ferry terminal, take the ferry to Visingsö, where you can also enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride. It is likely that cyclists will pass between 21:30 on June 14 and 15:00 on June 15.

Jönköping
Jönköping, the largest city in Småland, combines big city vibes with a wide range of restaurants, magnificent nature with beautiful walking paths and beaches, and an exciting history that has left traces in the form of earldoms, crafts, and matches. Cyclists pass Jönköping between 23:00 on June 14 and 16:00 on June 15.

Hjo
The wooden town that is the central locality in Hjo municipality, Västra Götaland, offers crafts, steamboat rides, and exciting nature activities. The spectator spot is located along the town’s beautiful promenade, and you also pass Sweden’s longest bench, Cyclists pass Hjo between midnight and 17:00 on June 15.

Askersund
A popular vacation spot with its beautiful archipelago, lively harbor area, beautiful promenade, and many activities to choose from. Stjernsund Castle, the local heritage farm, Knalla Mine, and Harge Point, to name a few. Cyclists pass through Askersund between 02:00 and 20:00 on June 15.
